  • Indonesia

    Indonesia Node – Padangbai, Bali
The Indonesia node is based in Padangbai, Bali, partnering with LivingSeas Asia to restore and monitor coral reefs using community-driven approaches. This node integrates low-cost underwater sensing technology with hands-on coral restoration to track reef health in real time. By empowering local dive instructors and community members with training and data tools, the Indonesia node supports sustainable reef recovery, marine stewardship, and resilience against environmental threats. It serves as a pilot site for the Medias Maris network’s vision of accessible, scalable ocean monitoring and conservation.

  • Coral Sense Bali

“Our dream is to popularize marine conservation by bringing together nations, science, investment and innovation to create a better future for the ocean.

We pride ourselves on our commitment to supporting local communities by providing employment opportunities. Our diverse team comprises both local residents from various Indonesian islands and international members, all working together towards the conservation of Bali's coral reefs.”

From coastlines to coral gardens, Medias Maris works where community, science, and the sea meet.

We support and co-develop ocean sensing and storytelling projects that are locally grounded, globally connected, and designed for long-term impact. Each initiative is shaped by the people closest to the water — and powered by our shared cooperative network.
